Austrotherm is the Austrian pioneer in the thermal insulation sector. The company was founded by Oswald Nowotny in 1953, and was the first to produce expanded polystyrene goods in Austria. The Austrotherm Group consists of 8 companies with 13 plants. It is also a part of the Schmid-Industrie-Holding – one of the biggest European groups of building materials’ producers.
Austrotherm was one of the first western enterprises to enter Eastern and Middle European markets, and now high quality thermal insulation becomes more and more important in those countries. With its good thermal insulation Austrotherm makes its contribution to better quality of life for everyone.
